This
instrument was built in 1984 for Westfield College, London University.
When the campus closed for amalgamation with another, the chapel
became redundant. The hunt was on to find a new home for this organ.
We could not have
wished for a more splendid location than the spectacular chapel
of Prior Park College. This is not only used for school services,
but it is the Parish Church for the district and also used as a
concert venue.
The pedal department
was enlarged from 1 stop to 5, necessitating a new action, chest
and case set behind the mahogany towers of the Great Organ casework.
The Great organ
was revoiced for this vibrant acoustic and enlarged by increasing
the scaling of the Principals 8 and 4 and by adding
a Bourdon 16ft and Flute 4ft.
